⚙ī¸IPFS Tools

In this section, we'll explore the various tools and technologies related to IPFS that hello.app leverages to provide a seamless and secure file storage experience.

IPFS Deployment

Project Structure and Technologies

  • Decentralized Identity: Every user on hello.app has a wallet associated with them, ensuring privacy and security with public key wallet addresses.

  • Open IPFS Gateway: Every user on our platform can do anonymous public operations through our gateway enpoint or connecting to the general IPFS network, also users have the ability to act as a host on our decentralized data network using Kubo RPC, more details on IPFS Gateway section below.

  • Frontend on IPFS: The entire static frontend is uploaded to IPFS via fleek.co, enabling access through IPFS CID or IPNS links.

  • Kubernetes: We operate a cluster of nodes on-demand on AWS to ensure scalability and reliability.

  • Database Proof on Arweave: Our web3 users' database snapshots are periodically uploaded to Arweave for decentralized, zero-knowledge proof storage.

  • Hello Pool (Zero Knowledge): A unique system processes and encrypts large binaries on the frontend, checking content identifiers (CIDs) against hello.pool for efficiency.

  • Cache Layer: Our caching layer makes frequently accessed data more accessible and cost-effective, utilizing technologies like Redis for hot storage.

  • Hot Storage: We use Sia to retrieve data from providers offering affordable bandwidth, ensuring quick access to frequently used data.

  • Cold Storage: Filecoin is utilized for cold storage, storing data that is not accessed regularly based on various parameters.

Keywords:

  • fleek.co: IPFS pinning for our frontend platform.

  • Arweave: Decentralized database proof for web3 users.

  • Caching: Utilizing Redis for common-accessed data.

  • Sia: Hot storage solution for quick data retrieval.

  • Filecoin: Cold storage for less frequently accessed data.
